Salvador Dalí

Salvador Dalí combined precise, highly finished painting with images drawn from dreams, desire, and the irrational. Familiar objects and bodies shift into strange relationships, giving his surreal scenes a crisp, almost photographic clarity alongside their unsettling content.

He worked in painting, printmaking, sculpture, film, and other media. His later subjects also included religious and mythological imagery; Cosmic Horseman and the Divine Comedy prints show how he carried his meticulous technique into both fantastic scenes and literary illustration.
